Water Reminder ("the App") is designed to help users track water intake and receive hydration reminders. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used.
1. Information We Collect
Water Reminder does not require an account and does not collect personal information on our servers.
The App is designed to work primarily offline. Water intake entries, reminder settings, goals, preferences, achievements, and related app data are stored locally on your device.
2. Internet, Advertising, and Analytics
The App does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking SDKs.
The App does not require the Android Internet permission for its core functionality.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share your app usage data with advertisers.
3. Notifications and Reminders
The App may request permission to send notifications so it can remind you to drink water.
Reminder preferences, schedules, selected sounds, vibration settings, and related configuration are stored locally on your device.
You can disable reminders or notification permission at any time through the App or your Android device settings.
4. Health Connect
The App may offer optional integration with Android Health Connect for hydration data.
Health Connect access is optional and is only used after you explicitly grant permission. If enabled, the App may write hydration records to Health Connect so your logged water intake can be available in compatible health apps.
Health Connect data is handled through Android's Health Connect system. We do not receive or store your Health Connect data on our own servers.
You can revoke Health Connect permission at any time from Android settings.
5. Local Storage
The App stores information such as:
- Daily water intake logs
- Daily hydration goal
- Reminder schedules and custom reminder times
- Reminder sound and vibration preferences
- Unit preference (ml or US fl oz)
- Quick-add drink sizes
- Theme and display preferences
- Achievement and streak progress
- Other settings needed for the App to function
6. Device Backup and Restore
Android system backup or device-transfer features may back up some App data depending on your device, Android version, Google account settings, and backup configuration.
Such backups are controlled by Android and the device backup provider. We do not directly access those backups.
7. Permissions
Depending on your Android version and the features you use, the App may request permissions such as:
- Notifications — to show hydration reminders
- Vibration — to vibrate for reminder alerts
- Boot completed / startup-related access — to restore reminder schedules after your device restarts
- Health Connect hydration permission — only if you choose to enable Health Connect integration
8. Children's Privacy
The App is a general wellness and hydration reminder tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our own servers.
Parents or guardians should supervise use where appropriate.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Because App data is stored locally, you can remove it by using any available reset/delete option in the App, clearing the App's storage from Android settings, or uninstalling the App.
If Android backup is enabled, backed-up copies may remain subject to your device or Google backup settings.
10. Security
We take privacy seriously and minimize data collection by keeping core App data on the device and avoiding unnecessary analytics, advertising, and tracking SDKs.
However, no device or software environment can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes, new features are added, or legal requirements change.
The latest version will be published at the privacy policy URL used for the App's store listing.
